Dr.-Ing. Mirco Gaul
April 9, 2017 1:41 p.m.Mirco is a co-founder and director of SiNERGi. He has a background in energy and process engineering, specialising in renewable energies. Since 2005, he has worked as an advisor on international development projects. At the intersection of energy and development, he provides guidance on implementing energy programmes, designing conducive regulatory and policy frameworks, developing business models and executing energy investment projects.
Mirco enjoys working in a variety of roles, whether as a manager, team leader, consultant or colleague. He enjoys working with people as well as performing technical or economic assessments involving number-crunching. He has been following the technical and political debate on the evolution of renewable energies for the last two decades and has acquired extensive technical and economic expertise. He has strong analytical skills and is adept at technical analysis, economic assessment, market and policy studies, strategy development, monitoring and impact evaluation.
Mirco completed his PhD on comparative energy and cost analysis of energy services at the TU-Berlin, where he also received his master (Dipl.-Ing.) in energy and industrial engineering. He has completed a post-graduate programme on international development at the Centre for Rural Development (SLE, HU-Berlin). Mirco is a reviewer for journals such as Regional Environmental Change, Energy for Sustainable Development and the Journal for Sustainable Development. Mirco works in German and English and understands Spanish.
